I recently came into the A+E department on a Friday night at 8-00 pm. I had been camping and slipped and ended up with a broken ankle. The staff in A+E were amazing, from the nursing staff to the doctors. Within 2 hours the A+E registrar had got me in plaster. Since i was tenting the staff realised I could not go back to do this, so they offered me a bed for the night until my wife drove 250 miles the next day to pick me up. Excellent service and many many thanks -

Burrow ward some nice people working there worth there weight and gold. But the attitude to patience who are old being spoken to like kids really winds me up. One gentleman desperate to get in his bed as so uncomfortable asked several nurses and their answers to him I thought was awful. He clearly was uncomfortable and they would not do it. Apparently a good reason was for his chest but it's how she answered him spoke to him like a kid and he was very with it. I would hate to think in the future when I am old I would get this type of treatment from nurses. Scary thought. Hope karma comes to them one day when they are old. I understand patience may be difficult but ur in the job because u like caring, so talk to people with care and explain nicely to them why u cannot deal with there request. It's not difficult to be polite and respectful. Shocking god knows what goes on when visitors are not there dread to think.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!
